The partners of RE-Greenhouse are pleased to announce the launch of local user groups in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany. We invite you to actively participate in shaping our GH RES decision tool.
What is the GH RES decision tool?
The energy transition is not just a technical and economic shift but also a profound social transformation. This is particularly true in the greenhouse industry, where the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources has far-reaching impacts on infrastructure, environmental conditions, and social policy issues.
The GH RES decision tool is being designed to help greenhouse stakeholders to identify the most suitable renewable energy source for their specific needs – both technically and economically. To achieve this, we are integrating new and historical data from our pilot sites, alongside insights gathered from local stakeholders and user group consultations within the European greenhouse industry.
Why we need you as a local user in RE-Greenhouse?
Given the diversity in growing systems, organizational structures, and regional legislative variations, we need as many participants as possible to ensure the tool is comprehensive and effective. Your involvement is important to tailor the tool and to address the unique challenges and opportunities within different regions. This is particularly important because the tool must be suitable for different greenhouse configurations and energy scenarios across North-West Europe.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a wide range of participants to collaborate on this project. This includes e.g. greenhouse owners and operators, grower cooperatives as well as municipalities. You consider yourself as a stakeholder of the greenhouse industry and want to join the project via a local user group? Don’t hesitate to contact your local contact point in RE-Greenhouse.
What are your benefits of collaborating on this project?
In addition to exchanging information and knowledge about the transition to renewable energy in greenhouses, you, as a participant, will have the opportunity to be among the first to test the tool. You will also have the chance to network with national and international stakeholders and get insights from our state of the art pilot installations.
Further information and the advantages of participating in the local user groups can be found in this handout:
